TJ

I have been teaching horse riding for more than 25 years and have competed from an early age.  My passion for horses started  very young and I was riding at the tender age of three.  I started my first business at 17, teaching horse riding in my home county of Yorkshire, and have been teaching ever since.

I treat my horses like humans, they are not machines, and I encourage them to have their own personality. My riders learn so much more about horse riding through communicating with them, and the riding experience is so much more memorable.

I built Gallop View Stables over 14 years, and am very proud of the lovely Gallop View Lodge that enables me to share this beautiful space with guests. I see the stables as one big family - the animals, guests and customers. We love a laugh, plus lots of cakes!

The Yard

Situated in the idyllic village of Failand, Gallop View Stables is a small but perfectly formed yard, with stunning views of the Bristol Channel. The yard itself is about 2.5 acres and includes 3 fields for grazing, 2 feeding pens and seven stables with tacks rooms.  In addition to this there is also a large outdoor arena with rubber footing, complete with adjustable jumps.  The arena is used all the year round and has lighting for the winter evenings.  There is also a large field with several cross country jumps to get in that extra practice.

From the yard there are miles and miles of wonderful hacking countryside.

Gallop View Stables is proud to be one of the few stables in the area that hold the coveted five stars animal welfare licence, awarded by North Somerset Council.
